During the OEM/platform selection process, a comprehensive reliability analysis for main components, critical sub-systems, and overall turbine design is strongly suggested. Failure rates and failure modes evaluation for each of the critical components or sub-systems is a necessary step. Detailed knowledge of the product, and its known or anticipated issues will be instrumental during contractual warranty negotiations, spare parts recommendations, and special tool availability throughout the life of the project.
